Hurricane Threat Peaks on September 10th

Even though Hurricane Season officially starts on June 1 and ends on November 30th, the scientific threat from hurricanes peaks on September 10th.


However, hurricanes can happen during any month: Hurricane Ivan made landfall on the Florida Panhandle as a Category 3 Storm in September 2004. Hurricane Dennis landed in July 2005, and Hurricanes Opal and Michael landed in October 1995, and 2018, respectively.
